Hebei
Secondary hubFile cabinets, lockers, steel desks, shelving and storage systems, school furniture, commercial seating: Bazhou is China's steel office furniture capital, and its factories are fundamentally sheet-metal operations — cutting, bending, welding and powder-coating steel at scale. Where Foshan dominates residential and design-led furniture, this Hebei cluster took the commercial and institutional end.
Steel furniture is a different manufacturing discipline from wood furniture, and Bazhou has the full chain locally: steel suppliers, stamping and forming shops, powder-coating lines, and hardware makers for locks, runners and handles. Buyers are commercial rather than consumer — office-furniture dealers and importers, school and institutional project buyers, gym and workplace locker programmes, storage-equipment distributors — and orders tend to be project-sized and specification-driven, which suits how these factories work. Tianjin port is within trucking distance and Beijing is close, but this cluster mostly serves domestic institutional demand, and its export polish reflects that.

Logistics advantage
Specialized in steel furniture — entire metalworking supply chain locally
Commercial and institutional furniture buyers: office-furniture importers and dealers, school and government project suppliers, locker programmes for gyms and workplaces, and storage-equipment distributors. The right call for steel product specifically — file cabinets, lockers, steel desks, shelving — priced well below general furniture sources. Best for specification-driven project orders. For wood, upholstered or design-led furniture, use Foshan.

Watch-outs
Steel gauge is the classic corner to cut: thinner sheet than quoted looks identical until the cabinet flexes, so specify gauge and verify by measurement at inspection. Powder-coating thickness, adhesion and edge coverage vary between factories and drive rust complaints later. Welds and lock hardware deserve functional checks, not visual ones. Factories geared to domestic institutional orders often need export packing explicitly upgraded to survive container transit.
