Wuxi is a recognised centre for yoga mats and fitness products, makes mid-to-premium apparel and industrial textiles, produces electronics and components, and carries a substantial solar and clean-energy sector plus some medical device work — categories where material quality, process control and consistency decide the supplier. Its 15,000-odd factories often work directly with overseas brands rather than through trading layers, and Shanghai's port is an hour and a half away, with the city's own Sunan Shuofang airport closer still and the Suzhou, Kunshan and Changzhou corridor next door.
